Hi Everyone, Sorry this weeks posts have been a little late but I’ve been finishing off yet another fantastic book on healthy eating, The Clever Guts Diet by Dr Michael Mosley. This book gave me a real education as to what happens when I eat and digest food and the impact glut flora has on my weight and general health. He provides practical advise and infomration on the clinical studies performed in this area.
I knew that gut flora plays an important role, but Michael identifies which bacteria help support our health and well being, and which bacteria are working against us. Michael also details the foods that encourage healthy gut flora and those foods that have a negative impact such as alcohol, sugar etc. The good news is that Michael also provides a plan to re-calibrate your gut flora to increase the levels of good bacteria and decrease the levels of bad to get the most out of the foods you eat. Definatley worth the read, highly recommended!!!
